Community
Our team takes great pride in participating in and sponsoring several community events.
Toys for Tots
McCormick Automotive Center has been a contributor and supporter of the Northern Colorado Toys for Tots for over 17 years. McCormick Automotive Center is an official drop-off location as well as the main sponsor of an annual car cruise to collect toys for Toys for Tots of Northern Colorado. We collect and deliver the toys to the local warehouse each and every holiday season. On average, we are able to collect and deliver 10–20 truckloads of toys every year. These toys will be delivered to children in our community who may not be able to afford toys that year.
The car cruise allows community members to bring out their hot rods, muscle cars, lifted trucks, or Jeeps and help support Toys for Tots by donating a toy to enter the car cruise. This annual event is held on the second Saturday of December, rain, snow, or shine. The staff members of McCormick Automotive Center volunteer their time for this event and may even bring out their own best hot rods! The car cruise will attract car enthusiasts from miles away and allow them to donate toys to a great cause. This event is just one of the many ways that McCormick Automotive Center has given back to the members of the community in Northern Colorado for over 30 years!
Veteran’s Day Oil Change
This event is held every year on or around Veterans Day and allows McCormick Automotive Center to give back to all past and present military members and their families in the local community. Each year, McCormick Automotive Center will set aside an entire day with each technician and staff member to provide a free oil change service to military members who are currently serving or have served in the past. On average, we are able to provide 30–50 free oil changes to veterans and do it all in just one day. This event allows us to give back to the community, show our patriotism for our country, and recognize the men and women who serve and protect our great community and country!
Having had past and current employees who have served and are currently serving our country makes this event something special to us. During the event, we host our veterans and provide refreshments in the lobby while they are here for free service to their vehicles. It is important to us to recognize those who have given so much for us, and this is just one of the many ways that McCormick Automotive Center is able to give back to our community.
Women in Wheels Workshop
McCormick Automotive Center kicked off its inaugural year for its Women in Wheels Workshop in 2023. This free workshop is held in October to bring support to the breast cancer awareness movement and to equip our female guests with basic car knowledge to make informed decisions on how to deal with vehicle repairs. The ladies of McCormick Automotive Center want to empower women to get involved with their own vehicles to be able to educate other women and our guests about the maintenance and repairs your car needs to keep it safe, reliable, and cost-effective.
This workshop includes hands-on demonstrations on how to check fluids, how to change a tire, how to properly jumpstart a vehicle, and the meaning behind common dashboard lights. Food and refreshments are provided, and the local parts vendors supply the event with fun door prizes and goodie bags for participants. Come get in the driver’s seat!
